Rowan is an architect with 20 years of experience working in Australia. He has spent the majority of this time delivering the full spectrum of residential projects from bespoke one-off home design, to unit developments, through to entire master planned communities of 1000 plus dwellings.
Having been trained initially in small practice and then progressed through to large commercial practice with Mirvac Design, Rowan has gained unique and significant experience creating architecture and place that maximises economic, social and environmental outcomes.
Brett AnstisDesign Architect
People like Brett see the bigger picture. An architect with a career spanning South Africa and South East Queensland, Brett specialises in large-scale housing and integrated development. He has designed homes and master planned communities, combining elements of urban design, landscape and architecture to create new neighbourhoods.
Brett trained at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg under the likes of Ora Joubert and Peter Rich amongst others.
Leeann WedlakeBusiness Manager
Leeann’s role as business manager is to support and work in consultation with the Directors in ensuring that the management of the practice is professional and allows all employees to achieve the business vision, values and objectives. A key outcome of the role is that the business systems are strongly aligned to the business strategy, with systems being enablers and supporters of the strategy. A large part of Leeann’s role as the BM is to ensure that the day-to-day operational management of DC8 STUDIO is effective with particular focus on Crew, IT, Finance and Administration.
A passionate traveller, Lachlan is one of those people who’s always looking forward. With a long career focussed on architectural project delivery, he can see the end goal and navigate the best way to get there. He has managed and co-ordinated large multi-disciplinary delivery teams working to tight programs and budget constraints. Lachlan has successfully delivered a diverse range of project types and scales from small domestic to $500m developments. He has recently been responsible for the delivery of projects such as Ephraim Island, Tennyson Riverside, ALDI stores and several retail developments.
Jacob HutsonDirector + Visual Artist + Photographer + Drone Pilot + Coffee Obsessive.
Jacob Hutson is the kind of person who can turn his hand to almost anything. With almost 23 years in the visual design industry, he has worked in a diverse range of fields from advertising, print production, television animation, computer game art lead to creating architectural and marketing imagery.
Jacob has extensive experience producing a variety of visual media for project marketing, architectural graphics, competition bids, corporate and commercial clients and is an accomplished professional photographer. He is also the chief pilot and photographer for the studio’s CASA commercial drone licence (ReOC).
His broad experience provides him the ability to add value to any project and visualise its potential through a comprehensive range of visual means.

Meet Riccardo and you’ll discover he’s one of those people that adds value to the project from the moment he joins the team. He has more than 20 years’ experience as an architect and has held senior design positions in a number of practices, culminating in his role as Queensland Practice Director and National Design Director for Mirvac Design.
Now as a Director and Co-Founder of DC8 Studio, Riccardo continues to provide innovative and considered design solutions for many large and complex projects throughout Australia. His architectural and high level corporate experience has provided him with a unique skill set that is invaluable to DC8 and our clients.
People with that rare ability to combine vision and detail are hard to find. Marianne is one of them. With over 30 years experience in interior design, Marianne has delivered a broad range of projects in London, the Middle East, New Zealand and Australia. In addition, she has completed postgraduate studies and holds a Master of Project Management. She is an accredited GBCA Greenstar Professional and occasional lecturer/tutor at QUT in Interior Design studies.
Her 14 years experience at Mirvac concentrated on spatial planning and strategic management. At DC8, Marianne has led the interior design of housing, hospitality and commercial projects. She also specialises in contract administration, with the successful delivery of a number of ALDI stores in Queensland and New South Wales.
Born and bred in Pretoria, South Africa, Manuel received his formal architectural education at the Tshwane University of Technology. He was registered as a Professional Architect in 2015 with SACAP (South African Council for the Architectural Profession). Manuel completed the first part of his practical training at Mathews and Associates under the mentor ship of Pieter Mathews, who had a profound influence on Manuel in terms of design.
Manuel’s approach to design is to consciously plan and optimize social spaces to encourage social interaction and strengthen social frameworks. He believes this outlook has the powerful ability to stimulate human well-being and fulfilment by creating a responsive and rich built environment, with an uncompromising commitment to ethics and public service with the end user in mind.
Moe ShahinArchitectural Graduate
Moe’s interests focus on design translation and the transformation of conceptual ideas into pragmatic built forms. The scope and richness of this translation process is a constituent Moe enjoys working collaboratively with both clients and colleagues to achieve. His investment in the architectural production process enables him to offer holistic design outputs and project efficiencies.
By approaching every project as an open learning process, Moe endeavors to deliver architecture that is both responsive and meaningful in both inter and intra-disciplinary contexts. Moe firmly believes that good buildings and spaces should be an everyday commodity for cities and their people.
Noa TranterArchitectural Technician
Noa has spent 5 years working in Urban Design and major projects in Local Government since graduating his degree in Architecture/Law at the University of New South Wales. In this time he has developed skills in resolving complex programs with numerous competing stakeholder interests in addition to an intimate understanding of the workings of Local Government.
Noa has been involved in the ground work for the redevelopment of key land holdings including preliminary feasibility, site master planning, consultation and consultant coordination.
Kara KennedyInterior Designer
Kara has highly developed skills and a commitment to interior design, accomplished through years of experience in interior design and documentation, in a variety of complex residential, commercial and retail projects, both here and overseas.
Her attention to detail, strong design skills and thoroughness add value to every project she is involved in. Self-motivated, she has exceptional interpersonal and client service skills. Kara’s strong computer-based skills ensure an efficient design approach in her work methodology and a coordinated process throughout her projects.
Adam GrzesCAD Technician
Adam is a well regarded building designer and documenter with over 20 years experience in the delivery of retail and residential projects.
He has undertaken both documentation and administration roles for a number of national retail clients, implementing their roll out programs for the development, construction and refurbishment of various restaurants and shopping centre tenancies in QLD and NSW.
Ron PriskSenior Designer
Ron brings to DC8 Studio his 20 years’ experience as Senior Designer for a wide range of project types including mixed use, commercial, retail, high and medium density residential developments, integrated housing and one off houses. Ron works closely with clients, consultants and authorities to ensure the best design outcome for all stakeholders, within time constraints and budget. Ron believes that buildings should have a sense of authenticity and integrity through a direct response to climate, place, function, materiality and structure.
Genevieve VellaProject Architect
Genevieve is a graduate architect from the University of Queensland with four years’ experience working in the design industry. Working while completing her studies has given her an intimate and holistic view of the operation and processes of DC8 Studio and the profession as a whole. She has had experience working, as part of a team, on a large range of building scales and delivery stages with a varied collection of clients and consultants.
Genevieve has a passion for thoughtful and integrated design responses which are unique to each project and location. Gen is a creative visualiser, bringing her architectural design bent to 3D modeling.
Benjamin PerkinsStudent Architect
Benjamin’s passion for design is centred in the human experience. He is deeply intrigued in the fundamentals of design and aspires to take a holistic viewpoint in everything he does.
As a student graduate, Benjamin collaborates with the senior team members along all stages of design. He brings a keenness to be challenged and a skill set in computer graphics and 3D modelling to the team.
Tony D’AndreaProject Architect
Project Architect and passagemaker. Tony is a registered architect in the Australia and the United Kingdom, with national and international project experience. His focus is in residential and retail store design, project management and project delivery. His design philosophy embraces the idea of ‘re-use and re-assessment’ of the existing built condition.
Tony’s project management approach pursues positive communication and quality execution of detail. Successful residential and high end retail work require one to readily anticipate obstacles and to foster a productive working relationship between clients and builders.

As an architectural student at DC8 Studio, Henry participates in all stages of the design process as well as taking an active role in learning about the internal operations of the studio. Through his enthusiasm and commitment he contributes to successful project outcomes for DC8 and our clients.

Amanda has valuable administrative experience, excellent organisational and multi-tasking abilities. She possesses strong interpersonal skills and has the ability to work well in a team and autonomously. Having a sense of humour, an open mind and a flexible approach to office daily life ensure the smooth operation of our creative and energetic studio.
Kirsti StockCAD Technician
Kirsti has over 20 years experience in architectural drafting and specialising in Interior documentation. She has an extensive background on a range of projects in New Zealand, London, and Australia. Her specialty and passion is residential, with a wealth of knowledge on high-end and multi-residential projects.
Peter PetrouProject Manager
Peter is a Senior Architectural Draftsman with over 12 years’ experience working in Australia. He has spent majority of his time delivering all phases from sketch design, DA & Construction documentation including consultant coordination.
Having been trained from a small private practice early on in his career and the progressed to Mirvac Design working for a large corporate company and working on Retail, Commercial, Residential High rise apartments and Masterplanned communities.
With a broad range of Skills set working in both the public and private sector and across Architecture, Urban Design and Interior Design with over 3 years experience. Lilia has been been exposed to a variety of projects, from large to small scaled. The largest being westconnex, education schools projects and currently residential projects. Lilia’s passion lies within the core fundamentals of design and its outcome to enrichen communities through design to ultimately meet the needs of our clients client.
